New Series: Sakura no Uta.
As I mentioned before we picked up a short, 1 volume manga. The title is called Sakura no Uta. It's about a boy named Naoya whose mother died when he was very young. His only friend was a young girl named Misakura Rin, but she moved away when they were still in elementary school. Now in High School, Naoya faces the death of his father, a well known artist who was always travelling. A life of solitude seems to be up the road for Naoya...
The manga is kind of waffy, but it is not a lovey-dovey manga. Hope you guys will enjoy it. I thought it was a pretty good read. The first chapter is in the works.
Series Updates:
20th Century Boys: I am, unfortunately, in a bad mood as I have to work all weekend. I have a make up for a floating holiday today (Saturday) and I have to go to a graduation ceremony for my school tomorrow. ARGH!!! Anyway, I am not trying to ignore 20th. I will try to get to it Sunday or Monday depending on how I feel mentally. No promises though (TM).
Love Junkies There's a lot of Love Junkies ready for chan to edit... but... chan seems to be missing... When you see releases you'll know he's back... when you see us recriting for LJ, well... yeah, you get the picture, I'm sure.
Omamori Himari Volume 1 has been completed. There is no sign of volume 2 anywhere on the horizon and believe me I've been looking for it. You'll have to be patient until it comes out, sorry.
Watashi no Messiah-sama Reik0Suave seems to be using a laptop to circumvent his recent computer troubles. Once 2:3 and 2:4 are proofread, they will be just about done as 2:4 at least is already cleaned and is +2 colored pages. >.>; I'm not sure what the status, editing wise, is on 2:3 yet. But trust me, we'll get it out soon. I have not translated v8 yet, but it *is* scanned so that will help since we have editors cleaning it. You guys are in for some *very* big surprises in v8 so stay tuned.
On The Horizon
Sakura no Uta is only one volume and I will finish it up quickly once I get things sorted out over here and I get some actual rest. I won't go into details on why I'm not very rested, so just take my word for it. There has been talk, and Hamsteyr seems very interested, about another Love Comedy manga. I have not read it yet, but the art and story do seem cute perhaps with an Akuma Jiten feel minus the harem. The best part is, this won't turn into another Himari as there are already 6 volumes of the manga out. We started Himari in March/April and the first volume came out in February, but we really had no way of knowing it'd take this long for volume 2. Maybe it's a slow year for mangakas as Messiah 12, which by previous volumes should be released in 4 days, is also no where to be seen.
Anyway, before I get too ahead of myself here, the staff will talk about it more and decide on what we want to do. I will pick up at least 1 vol of the aforementioned so the staff knows what we're getting into if we pick it up. I have also let them know we have been a little heavy on the Love Comedy scene and perhaps it's something we don't want to do at this time. If you want to chip in, you can discuss it here or in the suggestion box. I think I speak for the majority of the staff when I say that aside from MAR, we don't really want to do so super trendy shounen stuff (IE Bleach, Narutard errr Naruto, etc.)
As a side note, we will definately not be picking anything up before the end of August (when I am in Japan) so there is plenty of time for us to discuss and such.
