I have a very good recommendation for a manga that it's no longer being done by a group, and it is a great manga: Eden: It's an Endless WorldOnly up to chapter 75 of volume 11 has been done. I figure that since you guys are doing 20th Century Boys, this manga would be of your liking. Intriguing story, great action and violence, the story is very unpredictable, and hot women. First 10 volumes were done by MangaProject which are no longer doing scanlations and the rest by a group called "It's an Endless World!" and are no longer alive according to various sources. According to animenewsnetwork Volume 13 was released on September of 2005. animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/manga.php?id=2157Thanks for your time, and I hope that you take this recommendation seriously.

I don't know... First of all Eden isn't as good as 20thCB though i can't say it was bad. The thing is i think it is licensed and already 2 volumes are released and it looks next ones are gonna be fast enough. Also, i think somethink new would be more interesting. So... i'm not really in favour of this one - sorry.

I wish to suggest a still pretty young manga, Hayate no Gotoku, or rather Hayate the Combat Butler as it is known in english. This manga was previously scanslated by ATT, and their work are of the utmost quality, as throughout this comedy manga, various references/puns make up a huge proportion of the joke and ATT's witty translations always manage to present the closest possible meaning, and several editor's notes to explain the jokes too.
However sadly, when VIZ recently licensed the manga, ATT decided to drop it. Not only is this a huge dissapointment for me at not being able to obtain the manga any time soon, VIZ is most likely unable to present several of the jokes in their original glory. What's more, this manga, so far being scanslated up to volume 4 only, is still hugely unknown to most manga fans, thus there will most likely be not enough sufficient demand generated to prompt other groups to pick up this project.
The manga contains Furigana, if it helps the translators.
Description of manga: Hayate Ayasaki, 15, world''s fastest delivery boy. Currently working because his uncaring parents are unemployed, drunkards and addicted gamblers. After his Boss finds out that he's under the minimum age requirements, he gets fired... and his paycheck goes to his parents. To his dismay, they spent it all in the casinos, and racked up an incredible debt, which then leads to him being chased by the Yakuza, because his parents sold his organs to them for 150 million yen. Not knowing what to do, he comes up with a plan to pay off the debt - a plan that involved kidnapping a young girl all alone in the park. The girl however, misinterpreted his failed kidnap attempt as a confession of love, and he ends up being this girl's butler after saving her from another group of kidnappers. This butler will fight tooth and nail to protect his life-saviour. This is the story of a butler's love, sweat and blood!
Length of the Manga: As of current, four volumes have been scanslated by ATT, and seven volumes are already out at stores in Japan. It is being published weekly in Shounen Sunday. I don't really know where are the raws up till now, however I have the raws from Chapter 1 all the way to Chapter 85. There are basically roughly 10 chapters in each volumes.
Well the chances of Hayate continuing to be scanslated remains unknown to me ¯\(º_o)/¯. But hopefully Kindan-no-aku might be able to grant me and the rest of the current small group of people following the series the wish of seeing it continue being scanslated, and do the manga community a favour by helping to spread the greatness of Hayate!
P.S: I am pretty fluent in both Chinese and English, and can effortlessly transit between the two languages. I noticed that there is in need of Chinese -> Englisht TL'ers around here. I may be able to help out, although I can only be active during the weekends as I have a pretty huge exam coming up in a few month's time.
I can be contacted thru gmail - hyuuganegi@gmail.com msn - ass_swa_b00m@hotmail.com (Please note that it is two ZEROES)
Thanks for reading my long post =X.

Assuming we have the staff available, we'd be willing to do Chinese manga. We do have a Chinese speaker on staff, our main problem is editing right now. Maybe have a talk with S4D if you're willing to TL some chinese for us. If you know of the names and can send them to me, I might be able to find raws (I live in Taiwan) to scan and such.
I'd much rather do Chinese manga than Japanese manga translated into Chinese though. -_^

Ahh finally had time to register an account. God damned exams. With regards to editing... I'm not sure how much i can do, i have been learning photoshop with lynda.com's videos, but i've stopped for a while already due to stinking exams, maybe I'll check out some of the scanlating tutorials >_> As for the raws, I already have the Jap raws till chapter 85 (ATT scanlated till er...30?) but im not sure where will i obtain the other raws, cause they're rather hard to find =\ I'm not sure about the chinese title, tho EMland (a chinese fansub/scanlation groups) named the series 旋风管家, though im not really sure if that's the official naming =| The Jap calls it [畑健二郎] >_>

But we've been looking for a translator to do it for almost a month now, since SnoopyCool announced they were dropping it. And yet we still haven't made any progress getting one.
